What Does CBD Stand For?

cbd stand for

With the recent explosion in popularity, CBD products are looking to revolutionize the medical industry. Even with this rise in the public spotlight, what does CBD itself stand for, and what even is it? Well, CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is a compound found in hemp plants. This might surprise some people, as both hemp and marijuana are found in the cannabis family. Let’s dig in.

CBD Derived From Hemp VS Marijuana

To know what CBD is, we must first find out where it comes from. Our cannabidiol is sourced from hemp, not marijuana.

When sourced from hemp, CBD contains little to no THC, which means it will not result in a “high”. While CBD can be derived from Marijuana, the resulting product would be illegal in the vast majority of the United States. The passing of the 2018 Farm Bill made all hemp products legal late, removing the beneficial plant from the Controlled Substances List.

CBD Benefits

While no claims can be made yet, researchers are making progress in proving the benefits of CBD oil and the certain effects it might have on the body. So far, no negative effects of CBD oil have been reported; however, positive reports continue to be discovered.

CBD oil effects have been studied for many potential benefits. We are not doctors and cannot diagnose or guarantee any treatment, but we encourage you to research the effects of CBD oil to find out if you could benefit from it.

With that being said, we can tell you why people use it. Being in the industry for years, we have heard a variety of things from our customers. Including pain relief, being able to relax, and even the reversal of inflammation. CBD works differently for everyone, so keep that in mind if you are new to these kinds of products.

A Variety of CBD Products

One of the many great aspects of CBD is the versatility of the oil. It can be used in a great variety of products, including chocolates, tinctures, softgels, and even pet products! That’s right, the benefits of CBD aren’t only limited to humans. Dogs, cats, and even horses can use cannabidiol!
