How To Relieve Stress: Five Daily Habits

how to relieve stress five daily habits man

There are plenty of tips on how to relieve stress once you’re amidst it. But what if we were able to stop stress before it happened? To a certain extent, we can.

Keep in mind that stress is impossible to completely get rid of. However, being proactive about stress gives us room to handle those events in a healthier manner. The key is not to overwhelm ourselves with stress, rather create a space where stress can be managed efficiently.

Here are five daily habits to help you relieve the stress in your life.

Make a list

Even if you aren’t the kind of person to make lists, laying out everything that is expected out of you will prepare you for what is still to come. Whether it be a daily, weekly, or even monthly list, knowing what the future holds is important. If you hate the idea of making s list, perhaps utilizing your favorite calendar app can be a good substitute. Depending, you can even make multiple lists regarding different processes or responsibilities that you are familiar with.

Put some thought into your list’s order

Depending on your list, you might have tasks that range in difficulty. Should you tackle the easiest and progressively tackle the harder ones last? This is entirely up to your personal preference, as there is no universally agreed-upon “best” way to structure your daily or weekly tasks.

Take a moment to consider your work ethic. Are you easily overwhelmed when you have many tasks? Completing a few small tasks may clear your mind and allow you to tackle more difficult tasks. If you struggle with procrastination, taking that most difficult task head-on may be best.

Make sure to play to your strengths. You know yourself better than any other person, and the more productive you are, the less stress that you will have to deal with down the line.

Focus on the positive

Obviously, stress can’t be completely stopped by just making one or two lists. Life happens, whether it’s a relationship or financial stuff, many unpredictable factors can bring stress. One way to make it through these life events is just to think positively.

This is easier said than done, but if it was to become a habit, it can completely revolutionize how you go through your day-to-day. One thing to avoid is to overthink situations, something that we have all done in the past. If there is something that needs to be presently dealt with, then focus on it, not what might come after.

Take self-care seriously

Very overlooked, self-care is usually a go-to answer when our customers ask how to relieve stress. There are many different examples of this, it could be taking a personal day when you need a change in your routine, or exercising after work.

Making yourself a priority will not only help yourself in a personal capacity, but it could open up opportunities to help you assist others in their personal lives.

Make a plan

Even with purposeful daily action, stress always seems to find a way into our lives. Being prepared to take on stress will diminish the time spent managing it. If we can approach stress in a logical manner, it will lessen our emotional response to it.

Don’t expect perfection

Everyone messes up, don’t hold yourself to any high standards regarding this stuff. Self-improvement through relieving stress is not a simple task for anyone, it can take weeks or months to see any changes in your life. However, at the end of the day, simply having a positive outlook on life will go far.

Can CBD Oil Help With Anxiety?

Can CBD Help with Anxiety? blog

When most people think of anxiety, a variety of different occurrences can be imagined. For one, it could be seen as a weakness, while to others it can be seen as an expected aspect of life. Whether it’s the feeling of nervousness before going out and giving a presentation, or the knot in your stomach that appears as your flight gets ready to take off, anxiety is a normal part of life that should not be feared.

While anxiety alone is normal, there are those who have a lot worse than a temporary fear. Instead, what is momentary to most people becomes constant to those who have anxiety disorders. This is where cannabidiol (CBD) comes in.

Many of our customers here at Tasty Hemp Oil have reported CBD has done amazing things in their lives. Helping them feel calm and not overly anxious is one of them. In this blog, we will look at what anxiety itself is, and while the FDA has not yet released any findings, there are a few studies which have shown positive results when it comes to CBD and anxiety.

What Is Anxiety?

As previously mentioned above, anxiety is a normal and expected part of our daily lives. It can come in different forms, depending on where it originates, which could be either professional or personal aspects of your life. Being the “flight or fight” response to a situation we find ourselves in, the severity of the anxiety is based on what exactly is going on.

18.1% of all adults in the United States are affected by anxiety disorders, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. However, with many individuals either never seeking assistance or being misdiagnosed, the current estimates skyrocket to 30%.

What One Study Has Shown – CBD & Anxiety

The University of Sao Paulo, located in Brazil, has posted their findings on a study done to test the effect of CBD on anxiety. For the test, a total of 24 individuals who had Generalized Social Anxiety Disorder were given a public speaking simulation. Before the mock presentation, half of the subjects were given a placebo, while the other half were given a single dose of 600mg of CBD.

When asked afterward about how they felt during the presentation, the subjects who were given the CBD reported having felt a lot less anxious as they normally would be under similar circumstances.

How Does CBD Oil Help With Anxiety?

The endocannabinoid system is a biological network that runs throughout your body. It’s one job is maintaining homeostasis, which means psychologically balanced and stable. This helps regulate your mood, appetite, pain and memory functions that your body performs, usually without you realizing it.

Throughout your endocannabinoid system (ECS) there are CB1 Receptors. These are where endocannabinoids, such as anandamide (which causes sensations of pain, pleasure, and hunger), can be affected.

Both CBD and THC, the latter being the substance which gets you “high”, interact with your endocannabinoid system in different ways. THC perfectly fits into CB1 receptors, which gets you high. While on the other hand, CBD does not fit into the CB1 receptors, but other receptors found in the ECS that makes you feel more relaxed and calm.

In Closing

While there is still no FDA approved studies to prove it, CBD still continues to gain traction from the benefits it provides. While anxiety is not the only thing that our customers have tried it for, CBD is very quickly making a lasting impression on the medical field. With a new and improved 2018 Farm Bill on the table in the House for voting as we speak, the passing of which will clear up all confusion about industrial hemp, and lead to CBD products to be thoroughly tested by the FDA.

5 Steps To Revamp Your Busy Day

Whether it’s your job, family or other obligations, it can be hard to find ways to work around your daily routine. Here are 5 steps on how you can revamp your busy day!

1. Know What’s On Your Plate

Before you can dive in and try to alter your routine, it’s important to first know the ins and outs of your current one. Which responsibilities are important enough to stay untouched, and which ones are more flexible. For example, it’s obvious you will be more willing to work around your Netflix binging than your son’s basketball games. However, when it comes to finding priority between two important things, it can get tricky.

This is when knowing the “ranking” of importance every item has. Being mindful of this will allow you to change your busy routine without negatively influencing your biggest priorities. Changing a busy schedule is only worth it if you don’t neglect the crucial obligations. Researchers are finding physical schedules, preferably handwritten, make us more efficient, primarily because we retain information more efficiently if you write it. Even for those who are not as visual, this will assist you in not overlooking anything.

2. Find Openings In Your Schedule

Now that you know what is important and what isn’t, you can now look over your schedule and prioritize it. This the easiest step of the 5, especially when having your physical schedule as a reference to go off of.

3. Make Changes Right For You

You know yourself better than anyone else, so be honest with yourself when it comes to making schedule changes- choosing the options you know are most important and productive. When making changes, try to do a little at a time, huge schedule changes have a greater chance to negatively impact other portions of your life. It is much better to start off slow and add small adjustments over time than it is to make sweeping changes immediately. Smaller changes are much easier to adjust to, which could be as simple as waking up 10 minutes earlier each morning. A couple of small improvements like this can have as much of an effect as one huge change.

4. Test It Out

Now that you have your changes all laid out, it’s time to try them out. So as much as you want to invest in a cool neon sign which spells out your schedule, hold off and test it first. Expect the unexpected, even if you made one slight change, it can possibly affect more than what you expect it to. If you fail once or twice, don’t sweat it, that’s why you’re testing it in the first place. Change isn’t easy, and forcing change (even if it is for a good cause) is a process in and of itself. Asking a close friend or significant other to act as an accountability partner is a good option if you want to hold yourself to these improvements to your day-to-day.

5. Optimize And Finalize

Now that you have tested out your changes, it’s time to finalize them. Whether your first test was a total success, or you’ve gone through many different schedules while you tried to pick the right one for you, it’s time to make it happen. By this time, you should be in a good groove from testing and are ready to make it a reality. Now that you have optimized your day, it may sound odd, but be sure to schedule downtime to relax into your schedule! Setting aside time to invest in yourself can result in many physical benefits, such as reducing stress. When you are ready to relax, be sure to check out our CBD products!

Small Wins of a Wellness Journey

We understand working towards or maintaining health is not always a glamorous journey. The road to wellness can appear difficult—even impossible. Often times, however, we are focused on the big picture. When we’re standing at the base of a mountain, it is easy to become overwhelmed. If we approach each step individually, the journey becomes more manageable. The same can be said for a wellness goal.

We’re here to remind you of the small wins that come with the journey of health. While these may not seem like traditional “wins” in your book, we’d like to change the narrative to see them as achievements.

You Feel Like Giving Up

Reaching a goal can be a series of falling and picking ourselves back up again. When the first (or second, or third) hardship hits, our knee-jerk reaction is to give up. This is a universally felt emotion. We must remind ourselves: we can’t feel like giving up unless we’ve actually started.

Wanting to give up means that you’ve actually started.

When we feel like giving up, we should congratulate ourselves on reaching the point where we’re at. Even if it feels like we’ve returned to where we started, the work we’ve put in has made us a stronger, more knowledgeable person. That in itself shows progress.

You’re Having Trouble Keeping Up

It may be in a workout class or it may be in general. Sometimes we feel like we simply cannot keep up. The truth is, no one is perfect at the get-go. Putting in an effort shows dedication; a struggle means progress is on the horizon.

Having trouble keeping up means that you’re applying yourself.

Our journey is unique; where we are at is where we need to be. We should show ourselves kindness and continue to push towards our goals. With practice, we will surprise ourselves with what we can accomplish.

You Have to Ask for Help

As humans, we are hesitant to ask for help. There may come a time, however, where we cannot move forward without assistance. Whether we need the knowledge of a professional or support of a friend, asking for help is a sign of commitment. It means that we are willing to put ego aside to obtain our goals.

Asking for help shows a commitment to reaching your goals.

If we’ve reached a point where we feel like to need to reach out for help, we should do so. A community is an important part of growth and recovery. We should embrace the support of others and look forward to the day we’re in a position to reach a hand out to someone else.

You Don’t Reach Your Goals in Time

It may be taking longer than we expected to reach our goals. Perhaps we’ve set a deadline for ourselves that has since past. While it is great to set goals for ourselves, just because we don’t reach them in time doesn’t mean that we haven’t progressed. In fact, missing a goal simply means that we had the confidence in ourselves to set the bar high.

Not reaching your goals in time means you’re aiming high.

You’re Starting Over

It’s possible this isn’t the first time we’ve tried to maintain a health goal. It’s possible it’s not our second, either. No matter the reason we halted, we must forgive ourselves and begin again. Having the strength to climb the mountain once again is something to be proud of.

Starting over is telling yourself that you deserve a second chance.
